The idea of the project was to offer an intelligent and userfriendly mobile app, that offers information about current activities in the city – traffic, culture, outdoor activities etc. Main target groups are families with children, Tourists, Handicapped, Students (people who have special interests or needs). It is a cooperation between a private company and the municipality of Odense with a keen focus on „public participation” and user-centered design. Use of the Scrum developmet methode.

Main goal

To offer an intelligent and userfriendly mobile app, that offers information about current activities in the city - traffic, culture, outdoor activities etc. The goal is to have 5000 users before 2012. Currently there are 1000 users. The expected resultes were also to reduce expences on public signs (estimated 27.000 € a year)

Lessons learned

Mobile technology is a fast growing industry and it takes a lot of resources to keep up with the developmets. Also it is difficult to direct information from a website to a mobile phone. The adoption of “web apps” is important so that the information can easily be combined – web / mobile.
